The Window To Your Soul: How To Relieve Stress From Your Eyes And Reduce Immense Eye Fatigue

Posted on

Your eyes are often the last thing to develop and the first thing to deteriorate on your body. This is because of how often they are used and how little attention they are given. With recent developments in the digital world, your eyes tend to get strained more frequently. This is known as immense eye fatigue and can present itself with sore and watery eyes, blurred vision, double vision and/or sensitivity to light. When this happens, it is important to give your eyes as much relief as possible. Below are a few things you can do to give your eyes a break when you experience immense eye fatigue.

Massage Your Eyes

It sounds like crazy talk, but it is actually possible to give your eyes a little massage. It's also one of the best things you can do for your peepers when they are strained and tired. When you massage your eyes, you are helping them relax by promoting good blood circulation. By giving your eyes a quick massage, you are also relaxing the little muscles that surround your eyes.

Close your eyes and gently massage your eyelids for twenty five seconds. Take a small break and then massage again. Then massage right below your eyes, right at the bone for another twenty-five seconds. Repeat this process four to six times before getting back to work.

Palm Your Eyes

Palming your eyes with warm hands help relax your eyes and the surrounding muscles. This is a method used in yoga to offer your eyes some relief.

Rub your hands together for a few seconds to generate a little heat then place them over your closed eyes. Apply a little pressure and breathe in and out, with deep breaths, for sixty seconds. Repeat this process as often as needed to relax your straining eyes.

Repeatedly Blink

Something as simple as blinking over and over again will also relieve some stress from your eyes. When you continuously blink, you are stimulating your tear ducts. When you produce tears, you remove the fatigue from your eyes and relieve the strain by removing dust and dirt particles that float around in the area.

When you need a break, slowly blink. You will want to blink at least twenty times per minute for this to be effective. Do this several times a day. If you can remember, blink twenty times per minute every fifteen minutes or so. This will keep your eyes relaxed and strain-free throughout the day.

The eyes are often forgotten, though they are one of the most important parts of your body. When you start to notice immense eye fatigue, follow the guide listed above for eye relaxation. You will be amazed how good your eyes feel afterward! To learn more, contact an eye doctor near you!
